In 2003, Señorita Burrita opened its doors to the Lancaster, PA public, beginning a delicious California tradition on the East coast.
Jennifer Foster, with her love for freshly made salsa and the cuisine of her hometown Chico, California, decided that Lancaster would benefit from the culinary style of the West coast. With the help and guidance of local entrepeneur Lane Levengood (Square One Coffee 2003), Jennifer was able to accomplish her dream of establishing her own restaurant, inspired by not only her personal history, but also the love and talent of her close friends and family; Jennifer provided the outline for an idea, that was enriched by the art and inspirations of those closest to her.
The community of Ms. Foster's creative relationships became a family that raised and nurtured the idea of Señorita Burrita to the point of its inspired fruition. This process included the interior design conceptual ideas of Dan Deal, the artwork of Janell Olah and Jason Berlet, photography and table mosaics created and inspired by Jenna Stoltzfus, art and graphics by Jeremy Bentley, music and mosaic by Brenton Sollenberger, and metalwork by Jennifer's brother, Eric Foster. |
Señorita Burrita has evolved from being not only a fantastic eating establishment, but also a Saturday night music venue, where young local artists get a chance to perform and display their talent, a warm and inviting place for private parties and catering, a yearly attraction for New Year's Eve festivities, and a common gathering ground for downtown Lancaster's First Fridays. We've fed traveling rock musicians performing at the Chameleon Club, been in Lancaster's Best every year since opening, and catered for downtown events put on by the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce.
Señorita Burrita is showing its home of Lancaster, PA, that it cannot be contained. It is a concept that is continually progressing. Señorita Burrita is always contributing a vital part to its community, in driving fresh and interesting ideas. Feel free to come and be a part of our delicious revolution! |
